1974 MGB-GT

I have a 1974 MGB-GT that has been converted over to a single battery
The problem I have is an electrical short somewhere in the system.
I just bought this car and I've been told it was sitting for 10 yrs.  Is there
any one place more than the next where I should start with to try to find the
problem?
I'd like to start the car before I start the restoration on it
