I can't be specific but there are numerous modern radios that will fit. I
purchased a very nicely featured and pretty quality Audiovox AM/FM/Cassette
30 watt per channel stereo radio from the Audiovox Outlet store here in
Atlanta for approx $150.00 and it was small enough in the depth fit pretty
easily. This was a remanufactured radio but you couldn't tell it. It looked
and worked like new. I don't remember the model number of my radio and I
gave all the paperwork on it to the guy that I sold the car to but I DO
recall that they actually had several radio chassis from $100.00 and up that
would fit.
They market 3 lines of radios. Here's a link to a start page for all three
lines. I couldn't find prices but the web pages do show products and a

I'm rejuvenating my '70 B. When I bought it, it had the original BMC AM
band radio which I removed and replaced with something more modern, that
also ran the battery down, since I didn't drive it much.
So now I want to add a radio back in. I can't find (so far) a modern radio
which will fit in the radio compartment. There's a vent hose behind where
the radio goes and that reduces the depth of a unit that will fit to just 5
1/2 inches. So I guess I have two questions.
Since I've still got the original radio (minus the knobs), I could use it if
I could get some knobs. Anyone know where I might look? having just an AM
radio is not my first choice...
The second option is to find a radio that will fit that's only 5 1/2 inches
deep. I really only want FM, so I don't have to have cassette or CD. Any
suggestions?
