Hi all,
I have a question on a replacement gas tank I purchased on eBay for my 1980 MBG.

(The original tank was full of rust and corrosion from years of setting)
Now that its arrived, I find it's much lighter then the original tank, utilizing
considerably thinner sheet metal construction. It's also has non painted metal
surfaces. Is this ok to use? Also, any suggestions on painting or using other
rust preventive measures before installing?
