Tonight, I finally got the fuel gauge and tach working (74cbB).
I found a intermittent short in the dash harness (NEW) at the white
connector block. The green wire on the white block showed power (12.5 v) but no
power
to the green spade connection to the tach from that block.
After three days of tracing and checking continuity, I found the short in
the actual connector spade green wire/white block, as it hooks to the red
block.
Dr. Lucas had me very depressed until I looked for the obvious. A tach won't
run without power.
Duh.
