Randy,

Usually it is the hinges that break on the door because the handle being on
one side only, you are kinda twisting it every time you open it..... I
think on the back of the door is the "stair step", the spring/roller is not
mounted on the door itself. If you are looking for the door "stair step"
piece I have a very good door with two broken hinges that I never got around
to welding new hinges to. It's somewhere out in the garage. I can send it
to you for the cost of the UPS if you need it. It's off my '77

You can find complete doors on eBay every once and a while. That's where I
located my replacement door. It might be easier to mount up a whole door in
lieu of cutting and welding.

To Listers,

Can anyone tell me the dimensions, or send a picture of the spring that is
attached to the back of the air vent door that holds it closed and in
different open position? I don't know where to buy one so it looks like I
will need to fabricate one. Thanks in advance.
