What is the preferred way of securing a 12 volt battery in a 6 volt
battery box on an MGA? When my MGA was delivered, the battery had
obviously been jostled out of place and the battery cable had been
chewed up because it dangled on the universal joint. I discovered this
while investigating why the rear lights were constantly on.

By the way, here's an "in a pinch" hint. The plastic lens from an
over-the-counter NAPA Cab Light (part 1001D)($5) is nearly a dead on
match for the MGA 1600's glass turn signal lens. I found this out while
nearly failing inspection for a missing turn signal lens that must have
been lost enroute to the service station.
