I don't know if the later wiper motor can be substituted (don't see why
not), but I do know that the CRT model wiper motor can be rebuilt.
Lawrie Rhodes is rebuilding mine as we speak.

Other cars used the CRT wiper, but Lawrie told me that it is likely that
some would have different gearing due to different windshield size. He
quoted me $60 plus shipping to rebuild the CRT for my '54 Plus Four and
this CRT was a mess.
