Norm,
Are you interested in keeping the 1 ton rating? I don't know about width
on a '57, but I looked into putting a IFS crossmember from a '70's one
ton into my AD. I didn't like the width increase, although with the late
model rims I belive the tires would be about in the same place.

On chevy IFS pickups up to downsizing the entire front suspension
unbolts from the frame and I belive it would bolt into ad AD with a few
spacers. I'm not sure about a TF. Measure the distance from outside to
outside on your frame rails then measure a late model at a junkyard.
