Heavy Chevy has reproductions of these parts (includes the
actual inner cable) for my 57 GMC. I understand that they
are different if you have positrac or a Spicer 45 like mine,
so be aware of what rear end is in your truck before ordering.

I need a part that I do not know where to get or exactly what to call it.
It is the emergency brake cable COVER that goes between the rear drum and
the frame. My existing one is warped or has some problem where the cable
inside will not move freely. I have tried greasing it, etc with no luck.
I have found catalogs with every brake part under the sun for a 58-59 chevy
step, but not that one. Is there just a common part I can pick up
somewhere that will serve this purpose, and if so, what exactly do I call
the thing? Maybe I am just not looking in the right place.

Thanks guys,

Tex Carr
