When I owned my 54 3100 flatbed, I used a standard 1 x 3" Tongue in Groove
planks that are available at most lumber yards (good ones) as a standard
item. They just fit right together and no steel strips were used. This was
my solution to the same problem as no kits were available that I knew of.
