Well Folks, I want to thank all of ya'll for your input in my quest for
tailgate strikers for my 58 GMC Suburban Carrier Pickup. No, I haven't
been able to locate any as of yet. Still in desperate need. The PO
managed to lose them somehow and so I don't even have anything other than a
picture to go by. Someone on the list mentioned that they were also used
on the Corvair Rampside, but they mount different and won't come close to
working.
I would still like to find a pair of these if possible. I have tried
Hemmings and most of the vendors. If I can't find a pair, is there anyone
out there that would loan be theirs so that I can get a set made. I think
that the originals were cast steel but I would have them made out of some
kind of regular steel. I none to purchase or no loaners, I guess the next
thing would be a scale drawing.
A pretty good picture of what I am talking about is in figure 57, page 102,
of the Green and Yellow 1955-1959 GMC Maintenance Manual.
