While we are back on the subject;
I was looking at putting a later model 64-72 pumpkin in my 1949 3/4 ton
with the HO72 rear end.
Does anyone know what the highest ratio (lowest numeric) available was
for the 64-72s ? I dont want to set
out looking for something that doesnt exist but would like to get down
to 3.24 3.08 range...Did the vans have a better
selection of ratios ?

And if a person cant find a pumkin they like has anyone transplanted a
newer differential and pinion assembly into the
older housings. Looks like the 14 bolt is the same size ring gear but
will the assembly fit in the housing ?
