Just bought a '66 chevy 1/2 ton with a inline six, 3.?? rearend and the
original trany that is a 3 speed with a granny low. This hungry little
sucker only gets 10 miles to the gallon. Is this my tranny or are these
little sixes that bad? I looked up the casting #'s for the motor on a web
site and it is listed as such "235-250", how do I know which one I have? It
appears to be all stock including the monojet carb. so how can this sucker
get this terrible of gas milage?
