Smokey,

They will all fit but the best ratios, assuming you are using a 235,  are in
the T5 from the V6 models. Some of the 4-cyl T5's  had a 4.03 1st gear and
.86 overdrive 5th. The 4.3 V6 T5 has a 3.50 1st and .73 5th; the 2.8 V6 T5
has a 3.76 1st and .72 5th.

A good rule of thumb is (1st gear ratio * rear axle ratio) = as close to 12
as possible. So depending on your rear axle, plug in the numbers and look
for a trans with the closest match.

message boards. Also check Grant's article on Chevytrucks.org. Iassume
you're aware that there are some mods to the input shaft required, and a
different spline clutch disc must be used.
