As some of you know, I'm the proud owner of a 1924 Chevy 1 ton truck. I
got the truck originally to use for advertising in my engineering
company (at least thats how I justified it to the wife and the bean
counters), but the business has since been sold and it is now just
sitting in the garage, taking up space.
I don't really want to sell it (although I would as a last resort) but
would like to trade it for a newer project if anyone is interested. Here
are some details:

1924 Chevy 1 ton
35x5 rear tires (new Michelins), with stripped wood spoke wheels
33x5 fronts (again, new Michelins), with stripped wood spoke wheels
Frame has been blasted and primed
4 cyl engine turns free
Has new plugs and plug wires (original cloth covered)
All sheet metal has been blasted and primed
Brakes appear to work fine
Rebuilt starter and generator

I have the original wooden cab (or what was left of it) which could be
used as a pattern for a new reproduction. Also have all of the original
hardware, including the windshield frame with the glass still intact. I
was going to make a panel truck or bus out of it for work (it had been a
flat bed when I got it), but any type of wooden body could be installed.

The engine turns and appears to have good compression, although I have
never started it. The little 4 cylinder is pretty cool ...............
the rods are on the exterior (exposed) so they put on quite a show when
the engine is running (again, I have never started this one but have
seen others like it run). The carb that came with it is fried, but there
is an elderly gentleman here in Dallas that will rebuild it for around
$200.
The only drawback that I know of is that the drive shaft is out of the
truck (has a torque tube), and I cant quite figure out how to get it
back together. The tranny shifts fine, the wooden steering wheel is in
good shape, and I have a bunch of old (some Chevy script) gauges, some
of which look to be in good working order, others look pretty rough.
Anyway, if anyone is interested and wanted to work a trade, I'm hoping
to find an AD suburban or canopy express, TF suburban, any kind of panel
(from 40-59) or just a big window TF. May also be interested in wooden
boat projects, old tractors, windmills or anything used around a farm.
I'm looking for good projects (preferably from 1937 or newer), but
nothing fancy. Any takers?
Thanks
Brad Newman
