Small solar panels, about 10 watts are perfect for maintaining charge.  Get
one from one of the auction places.  Harbor F also has them.  They put out
just enough to keep your battery charged without boiling it.  You never have
to think about them and they last forever.  The first solar panel ever built
is still putting out electricity at Bell Labs.
