Hi Gang,

I am in the beginning stages of the body work on my '49. It seems a while back
(1year?) there was a discussion about epoxy primers and the steps involved in
the priming, filling, painting process. I have tried to find the thread but
couldnt locate it.
I have sand blasted some of the bad sections of my cab(cab corners, rockers,
cowl, etc.) and ground off most of the filler from PO. The cab is stored
inside of my shop (clean & dry).
Am starting on the roof now which I have sprayed with epoxy primer then added
some filler to the low places. The problem is when I sand down to the epoxy
primer - it doesn't want to "feather out". Also am wondering should or can the
filler be applied to clean shiny metal or should it be Self-etching primered?
I thought the idea of the epoxy primer was to "encapsulate" the filler top &
bottom. Do you then spray your regular sandable primer on top of the top coat
of epoxy?
I better stop now-I think I'm confusing myself. Sorry about the rambling.
Thanks All
Jeff Lawrence
