I was told by a local trans shop that for my engine and trans, 1974 Nova 350
with 350 Turbo. that 1800 was stock. So i figured if i went to 2000 that
would give me a little more punch in my truck. He also said that most after
market modulator valves were adjustable. The big cansiter type that was on my
trans was not adjustable and I have not looked at the new one to see if or
how to adjust it. I am using the original governor, but was wondering how
much trouble it would be to change it later if I wanted to? I think i got a
pretty good deal though. New/rebuilt, not sure which, a modulater and mount
for $53.00. FLAPS wanted 109.00 for a less stall converter.
                Thanks tom

The transmission and torque converter selection sounds fine to me. The 2000
Stall will also help eliminate the vehicles tendency to creep forward at the
signal light. If your looking for a little extra help in programming the
transmission shift points look at purchasing an adjustable vacuum modulator
and a governor weight kit.

What size of transmission oil cooler are you running?
