I have subframed my 58 like that except I didn't carry the subframe
all the way under the truck frame.  I cut mine off about a foot back
and curled the ends up.  It looks much more finished that way. 
Another thing the article that I patterned mine off of, uses 2x4
tubing as a cross brass for the radiator support and for the bumper
brackets.  It looks like that one you show is a little weak in the
front. I think the tubing again, looks much more finished.  That guy
must not have measured it real close when he did his. The front
should have ended up almost at the same height as the old one, in
relationship to the rest of the frame.  I know mine ended up at the
same height as the original front was.  It will sit lower when it is
put on the ground of course.
