Bruce-

I have a stake bed for my '51 3100. It was made for the original owner and
was designed to carry one bale of cotton in North Alabama. It extends as
high as the roof of the cab and has both front and back pieces to completely
enclose the bed. It also has steps extending down over the fenders
supported by metal brackets that are clearly hand-crafted. I have been very
impressed with the workmanship that went into this. Allegedly, the lumber
that went into it was cut and milled by hand. The truck has been in the
family since new, and as far as anyone knows the stake bed has been around
as long as the truck. I think getting 50 years out of a wooden stake bed is
worth bragging about. I don't have it installed at the moment and it's
sitting in my storage shed. It's usually pretty dark by the time I get
home, but if you're interested, I could snap some digital photos and take
some measurements this weekend. Let me know.
