[oletrucks] 53 wiper knob replacement?

I just ordered a new chrome wiper knob for my 53, and was hoping that it 
would have the nut and little arm already attached.  I have an old one, is 
there a way I can get it off without breaking the original?  Is it just 
pressed on?
