Morgan, I just removed a bunch of that from an old GMC I had, but sold st=
uff
to someone on list. Not much to it, just some valves behind the cab hooke=
d
on the frame with homemade brackets. Didn't look like anything I would wa=
nt
anymore or want to use. Do all the new trailers have something like this =
on
them now? Mine was not hooked to regular brakes in truck at all, I don't
think, you needed to use the lever alone for trailer? Not sure. Seems lik=
e
there's some diagrams in my 470 book on them. I'ld have to look.=0D
  You might try to get Spanky Hardy from 633 Plantation Drive, Burlingto=
n,
NC 27215 Phone 336-222-8080. He's into old GMC's, wreckers and tractor
cabs. Mostly COE's but mechanicals the same. He isn't on web, but goes to
library sometimes to look at things on 'puter. Best to call him. Good Luc=

I have a 57 GMC 372 that was used as a road tractor in Texas. It has a =0D
68 427 truck engine with a Dana 4 speed, two speed rear. I am working on =
her
 =0D
and trying to get her set up to keep hauling.She has the setup for the ol=
d =0D
vacuum brake trailer, which had a Bendix cotrol on the column. I am wanti=
ng =0D
to hook up the air brakes for a regular trailer setup, but need all the
parts =0D
and brackets to do so.Does any one out there have a setup they are taking
off =0D
to do a conversio? I was hoping I might use the same Bendix control to ru=
n =0D
that so she can go both ways. I am also looking for a large trailer. A 20=
-
25 =0D
ton lowboy preferably, that needs some repairs. I can weld with the best =
of =0D
them, and fabricate, so a fixer upper is preferred, as I turn a wrench by=
 =0D
trade.There are a lot of local people that need old cars and trucks moved=
, =0D
but can't afford the price. Also A good used 6000 lb or better winch for =
the
=0D
front of it.=0D
