Go to www.inliners.org click on "Tech Tips" and you will find the
headbolt settings and sequence. I am sure that someone on their
"bulletin board" can answer you other valve setting questions. There is
some tips on adjusting valves on a 228 in the "Tech Tips" too.

Looking for valve settings, headbolt tightening sequence and headbolt torque
settings for a 228 GMC 6 we are putting together. We have no shop manual
for this unit at this time but would consider buying one if available.
It will be stock except for exhaust so we consider it stock for settings.
