I recently painted an aluminum hard top for my '55 Willys. Dupont has an
aluminum prep system that first uses a wash (man is that stuff good),
followed by a zinc chromate "equivalent." **Real** zinc chromate is
hard(er) to find these days. Dupont's stuff worked very good and both are
avail in 1 qt sizes (more than enough).

I have some cast aluminum valve covers that I'd like to paint. I understand
that there is some type of solution you need to apply to aluminum to let the
paint adhere.
I can bead blast the valve covers prior to painting, would that work?
Can any of you guys tell me, what is the process for painting aluminum?
Thanks in advance.
