hey,i dont have an answer to your question, but i have some hubcap logo
painting tips...at first i bought some stickers (from Carters)to fit inside
the embossed GMC logo area of my 53 hubcaps.but it didnt fit perfect and
after a year had started to lift in some areas...i talked to a fellow who
works at a restoration shop about this.heres how they paint the logo area on
painted or chrome hubcaps .clean and dry the cap then we use rattle can to
spraypaint just the logo area trying not to get to much excess on the cap
then let it sit till almost dry, next get a rubber sanding block ,you know the
kind thats flat on one side and curved on top, instead of sand paper you use
the back of a piece naugahide or vinyl upholstery, the cloth backing side
exposed on the sanding blocks flat side.then pour some paint thinner on the
cloth back (it acts like a soft sponge to hold the thinner and abrasive
enough to wear at the fresh paint )and start rubbing the cap with your
pressure just on the high areas untill all the excess paint has been
removed.let dry for a few days..then i used a auto polish/wax compound to
realy make em shine ......first i tried maskingtape what a mess..its one of
the few things i have done that looks so professional i thought i might share
the info and hope it helps someone..steve
ps then i did the horn button and hood emblems this way too.
