You should be able to have the broken leaves replaced and the springs
re-arched for a lot less than $700.  The last time I had this done it was
less than $100 for a set of two springs (I think that it was about $70).
You should be able to find a place that does work on truck springs.  I even
took a set of MGB leaf springs to a spring shop and they rebuilt them even
though they mainly worked on truck springs.

Hey everybody...

Quick question.  My '59 GMC 1/2t needs new springs.  Two sets have broken
leafs.  I've got two parts trucks with intact springs.  Should I re-arch an
original set, or replace with new?  I don't like the thought of giving up
$700 for new springs.  The truck will be a weekend driver... no heavy
loads.

What do you think?
