Don't know if this will help or not, but I seem to remember that 3rd gen
Camaro used a torque rod that serves part of the same purpose as the
torque-tube in a closed driveline system. Could you be looking at something
related to that?

Does anyone know were or how I can check a Serial Number for a 700R
Trans? I was told it came out of an 89 Camaro but I'm not sure. It has a
strange looking counter weight attached to the aft end of the housing.
The serial number is 9Y6167N.

Thanks
George
