Thanks for the input into my parking brake problem and the clarification on
terminology ('parking' vs. 'emergency'). After replacing all wheel cylinders,
master cylinder, fabricating new brake lines, repairing or replacing all
associated brake hardware (pads and drums appear to be in serviceable
condition) and properly adjusting the system I hope to only need a 'parking'
brake not an 'emergency' brake.

Sounds like the cable to rear brakes is a better solution for me than the floor
mounted parking brake (including considerations of cost and availability of
parts). Still have to solve the issue with shortened frame (lost 9" of length
between crosmembers where cable brake hardware is located). Situation is that I
now have about 5-7" of slack in the forward end of individual rear wheel brake
cables. I will shorten the cables. Change the angle of the support bracket for
the cable housing to correct for new angle to approach the brake idler lever
and continue to use the old cables (or get new cables depending on condition of
existing parts). Would like to find an appropriate Hydorvac unit and possibly
the appropriate factory optional power steering unit for this year and model in
the future. Enjoyed the input from the oletrucks members.
