John, et. al.

It wasn't until '46 that Chevrolet got smart and secured the fenders to the
bed sides with more bolts. My '46 is an "early" model and actually had one
old and one new. I made them both the "new" style. No one is going to care
and the new style creates a better job. Do it.

There was only one tail light, license plate bracket and it attached on the
left (driver) side with two bolts down low on the front of the rear bed
stake pocket. If you're adding a right side unit jut match the pother
side.

Hope this helps.

On my '45 half ton, there's only one bolt on the very
top of the fender (above the bed strip). I'm tempted
to drill two more bolt holes spaced out on either end
of the top hole. Would that be a sin? Also, I bought a
brand new set of tail lights and brackets. Exactly
where does it bolt to on the rear stake pockets? Do I
drill holes for it? Thanks, john.
