1. Check to make sure door hinges are not worn-  open door about  1 feet and
grasp door @ bottom rear. Try to lift door up and down and check for hinge
play. ( look for worn hinge pins and or/stripped or missing bolts). Pay
special attention  to the  nuts that are welded in place on the door itself
for  the  lower  hinge. This can crack or rot loose and allow the door to
flex against the hinge arm.


2. If hinges are in good condition , remove striker plate  so that door
striker wear issues do not affect alignment.


3. The  bolts in the hinge pockets provide vertical alignment      ( up and
down)

4. The bolts in the door provide horizontal alignment  ( front to rear)

5. If you cannot align the door  with the bolt @ the limit of travel  , you
may have to elongate the holes in the hinge for additional adjustment

6. BE PATIENT--   This is not a 30 minute job.  A second set of hands is
also helpful
