I had one stock on my new 71 IH Travelall. It had a 345 V-8. When the engine
got warm, the fluid in the clutch was supposed to lose viscosity (get
thinner) and the engine didn't turn the fan very fast. When it died I
replaced it with a Flex-o-lite type fan, where the blades flatter out at
higher speeds. Both seem to have worked well. I live in PHX, and used to
pull a 4000 LB. 22 foot travel trailer with the Travelall.
