That doesn't feel right to me, but it was all I could come up with....

Cleaning up my engine and installing new intake, carb, distributor and some
dress-up items.  Came across this number stamped on the left (passenger)
side of the block in front of the cylinder head

355809F56A

This matches the VIN stamped on the driver's side door post, but my usual
places for decoding VINs doesn't seem to make sense with this number.

Cylinder heads have a casting number 8978487 with 130 cast directly below
the first number.

Anyone give me any clues or direct me to a website?  Thanks in advance.
