Bob, thanks for the lead on Differential Engineering...very interesting. Have 
you considered picking up a 2-1/2 ton 6x6 from somewhere like  
http://www.govliquidation.com/  , recycling the cab and bed, setting your GMC 
pickup cab and 
bed on this baby (torchwork may be required), and cruising the land with the 
toughest AD/AfterAD on the road? I only know about military things that float, 
or used to float, but I heard somewhere 6x6's come with a diesel engine big 
enough to move Texas closer to, or further from--your choice, Arizona.
