Could the R be an E or F? R doesn't fit what I understand about the VINs on
these trucks....
E would be '47; F '48.
The VIN on my '47 starts with a number, followed by an E and then I think a
P to indicate 3/4-ton.
Could this truck be from Canada originally?

It is an Chevy AD farm truck. Doors (no wings) and gas tank location (not
in cab) indicates that it is a 47 or 48.
