Greg,

I believe that they are identical; I have a LWB GMC
frame (100) and a SWB Chevrolet frame (3100) -- both
'56s -- for comparison.  I will have to check the
dimensions to be sure, but they look like the same
piece.  BTW, this crossmember _is_ the same for 1955 -
1959 3100 - 3800 / 31 - 38 Chevrolet trucks.
