I am in about the same place: just bought a blasting cabinet and plan
to buy a pressure pot, but having to go slowly. But am having a ball thus
far<G> One thought I had on my own fire truck ( a converted 1953 REO M35
Duece and a half ) was to pull the cab, or at least loosen it enough to get
access to the rusted metal. I can't see of a way to ensure I've done a
good job of removing the damaged metal other than to get real access to it. ?
I have seen a few posts both here and on an Old Military Vehicle list
where the guys said they have had very good results with rust nullifiers
but for some reason that just seems ... less than ideal to me.
One other thought: does your trucks fire apparatus come apart panel
by panel? Mine might in that area as the huge straight 6 for the pump is
located just behind the trucks cab. If so, that's an easier way in.
