On my truck I have a 327 with 3.5to 1 gears but have a 700r4 that will
give me the equivalent rear end gear ration of 2.45:1 do about 70 at 2000
rpm with the 30" tires. I set the intake manifold level and the engine
is set at about 3* down and I welded in the rear end at 3* up from level
there is no vibration in the drive line at any speed so far truck has
been on the road for a month. I think the 327 like to really rev a
little more but it is fine and fast in all the gears below the overdrive
with the locked up torque converter. Ed ke6bnl
