I've been using Prolong in my 92 S10 with 145,000 miles and it seems to be
fine! I started using it about 10,000 miles ago. No problems yet!

Beware of using those additives in a high mileage engine. The use of
Teflon on a high mileage motor can cause irreversable oil useage and loss
  of compression.
