Locking a cylinder with anything and then applying force on the crank
is
an almost surefire way to bend connecting rods or cracking pistons.
Leave the crank free and use light force on the airwrench or lock the crank
with a screwdriver on the ring gear and use light force on a hand power
bar., Done lots of them and not one came loose yet.
