Mark, if it was my nickel, I'd go for a separate gas-driven compressor.
It's been my experience that gen sets don't like the sort of large start-up
loads imposed by air compressors, for example my 4.5kw Onan won't reliably
spin up my 2.5hp compressor.
Also, if you avoid using any big inductive loads (like a compressor), you
likely won't need any line conditioning. Computers are actually not all
that picky about power, except for large voltage spikes like the kickback
from an inductive load.
