| Folks,
I'm going to be installing a patch panel on a car with butt welds. I intend to
do a little planishing to flatten the
welds and undo some of the heat distortion. My question is, which side of the
butt weld should get the hammer and which
side the dolly? I know from doing some panel shrinking that sheetmetal rises
toward the heat (like a blister or
pimple). Is it the same for welding; i.e. will the joint pucker towards the
MIG gun, or away from it?
TIA,
Bob
