My car makes the same noise, I plan to wate until I start to loose a
gear, and then get a replacement box. Metro's BL gearbox always wined
in first, I think it's a trate of the boxes. Also the sound insulation
between the box and the gear tunnel is almost none. So you hear
everything. You have checked you oil level is correct, and that the
mount's are in good order.
A little bit of noise is OK, if it's starts to get worse then check it
out further. If not turn up the radio, and keep the hood down.
