Well gang, I seem to have banished my turn signal demons once and for all.
I finally tore the entire driver's side of the dash apart and cleaned the
hazard light switch and all of the associated connectors and checked the
wiring. I also discovered that the reason the turn signal indicator on the
dash was not working was because the flasher unit was bad - this was also
causing the too rapid flashing when they did decide to work. Anyway, I seem
to have an extra wire - it is solid black and attached to the car-side of
the connector that the hazard light switch plugs into. Idiot me cannot
remember what color is on the other side of the connector, but it is not
black. Any ideas? Now hopefully Freddy will pass inspection on Friday.
(about all Maine checks is that the lights and horn work! - depending on
where you take it of course)

Kevin Rhodes
Freddy the Spit (not inspected at the moment)
Claudette the Peugeot (who cracked her exhaust center pipe ;-( )
An unnamed Jetta (inspected and with intact exhaust thank God for extra cars!)
