MKIII or MKIV engin?
The MKIII engin has the smaller bearings that give less resistance.
The MKIII was rated at about 75BHP, but becase the tourque was less than
the 1500 the acceleration was down.
The 1500 is as standad 71BHP, good manifold, scrap the mechanical fan,
better air filters, with the relivent carb needel and you will be
pushing out the equivelnt of 85 BHP. This won't effect the idle though
so it's fine for street. Electronic iginition and a better coil will
help make the top end less strained as well. Then you can cut bit's
out of the sides of the pistons balance them.

My car it non standad as whell.

7.8:1 compression 1300 engin with big valved 1500 head. 1500 SU carb
setup chrome air filters, pre-engadged starter. Electronic igintion
distributer as aposed to a kit.

Goes not very well I'm looking for a new engin.
