Was the parking spot anywhere near a donut shop? :-)  That could explain why
they wouldn't move, and why they didn't care about the vandalism that took
place!

                I haven't had a top cut-though it's an idea that gives me
nightmares.

                I have had a tonneau cut-slashed, actually. The spitty was
parked across
                from it's regular space as there were police (no, I don't
know why) parked
                in my usual space and wouldn't move. They were there the
whole night as my
                tonneau was being molested.  Haven't used a tonneau since!
