The list's input about converting from a non-OD to an OD tranny for
my 78 1500 has been helpful, thank you.
I have been able to obtain a good conditioning gearbox with what
looks like a "later" J-type OD. The gearbox itself is, I believe, an
earlier model "early FH" - it has the topcover as illustrated for the
"through 1974 Spitfires." The gearbox # is FK 33567. The FK and the
final 7 are smaller stamped with a smaller die and appear to have been
added at some later time.
I am anxious to get it installed but did not get the following with
it, and could use some help locating these - as well as hints as to what
I might be overlooking.
1. Top cover extension and lever assy.
2. I have no electrical stuff except for the shift knob w/ switch and
the switch harness.
3. The OD limiter switch
3. The actuating solenoid
4. The Drive Flange, lock nut, and washer (I have the proper drive
shaft.).
Plus, what would really be helpful is a picture book of these
components assembles. I have Bentley, and a couple of catalogs but they
are only minimally helpful in that regard. I will be obtaining the
Haynes manual. Is there is another source of good illustrations of the
assembled components?

If I ever get this done, I will probably have some good experience to
pass on. I might even have some transmission parts available. Thanks
for your help.
-Gary
