I picked up a 7/16, six pt. socket at my local NAPA store on the way home
from the office today. Went directly to the garage and removed that pesky
bolt straight away. All the other bolts came out yesterday with the 11mm
socket fitting very snugly and with no problems. I guess the corroded one
was just stubborn enough to teach me a lesson.
Thanks to all who responded to my dilemma. Problem solved. Now if I can
somehow convince my wife that I need MORE tools....
