you are probably going to have to replace (or rebuild) your
tranny. after about two years of owning my spit, dreading
having to rebuild the gearbox which never shifted right, it
eventually started popping out of third when i wasn't
accelerating. so, i decided to strip it down and found that the
mainshaft had worn down between the 2nd and 3rd gears. i
probably shoud have replaced it, but a new one was ~$100, and i
had no money at the time.
as for all the electrical problems, spend a day and clean all
the contacts where two or more wires come together. you'd be
suprised at what this can do.
one last thing, you'd be suprised at how much stress can be
relived just by sitting in the car. enjoy it. let it be the
fun car it was meant to be.
