Hi guys - & gals ;-)

I just got Baby Blue out of storage. It's great to have her back. Roger
brought her round the other night, full of apologies for her run in with the
taxi - not that he could have done anything about it.

The only legacy of that crash seems to be that my once perfectly lined up &
gapped drivers door (one good result achieved during the rebuild) now
doesn't align properly at the bottom, the lower edge is about 1/4 to 1/2
inch proud of the body line, so I'll be taking it back to where the repairs
were done tomorrow to see what they'll do about that.

He's done a few jobs for me while I've been away which was great: fixed the
leaking clutch slave cylinder (didn't need replacing at the time but I still
have the new replacement - just in case), fitted the new glove boxes so
they're nice & tidy now & finally fitted the speakers so, after only 6 years
I finally have sounds in her! They're sitting neatly in the footwells so the
hope is that even with the roof down (not yet - still too cold for that
here) I should actually be able to hear something. My only problem now is
that as it's been 6 years since I used the stereo I can't remember how to
tune in the pre-sets!

The only thing he left me to do is give her a damn good wash & polish,
anyone got some 'elbow-grease' they can lend me here in not-so-sunny Gosport
this weekend?

It's been great driving her again the last couple of days, the roar of the
engine, the wind whistling thru the flapping edges of the soft top, feeling
every bump & dip in the road, being on eye level with practically every
other vehicle *tyre* on the road...

Who needs electric windows, soundproofing, a powerful heater, a smooth ride,
being able to climb out elegantly rather than crawling out from only a few
inches above the road surface, and actually being able to carry a whole
shopping trip worth of groceries...?

No, my Baby Blue's much more fun.

Suzie
