Hello all,

Been a productive week on the Spitfire - diffy swapped, exhaust changed
over to stock configuration, floors painted, steering column bushes
replaced. Totally new screen washing components from pump to jets. I feel
like I am in the home stretch, and expect to have the little guy back on
the road this weekend.

Couple minor questions -

What spark plugs are best for a 69 1296? Highish compression, dual SU's,
street use. Any suggestions on brands that are good/brands to avoid? What
should the gap be? I have Crane electronic ignition and a Mallory coil.

Those of you who have re-veneered your dashes - what did you do as far as
stain and final finish? My veneer work is done, I am in the midst of the
final sanding. I used bird's eye maple because the local woodshop had a
very nice piece, but I am unsure of whether to use some sort of colored
stain or to just use clear varnish. The wood is MUCH lighter than the
original walnut (after stripping and sanding anyway) - too light I think.

Thanks for all advice!
